NHDRO Racer Spotlight : Shakee Knisley
Kirk Knisely (better known as Shakee) from Indianapolis Indiana has raced the NHDRO series for several years. He is one of the nicest racers you would ever know. He races with a 1990 Suzuki GSXR 1100 in the Crazy 8’s class. He is currently in the top ten of the 2014 NHDRO Catalyst Crazy 8’s Points.
Shakee got an early start to racing when he was ten years old at Motor Cross and has been racing motorcycles for 37 years.
BIG CONGRATS to Shakee for the following awards:
- 2 NHRA Wally Trophies
- Division 3 Race Team for Raceway Park two years in a row
- Multiple plaques and trophies for NHRA
What you may not know about Shakee is that he has had a ‘backyard brawl’. Now wait a minute before the rumors start to fly – he lost a fight with a lawn mower. He flipped a Dixie Chopper Lawn Mower. Needless to say, Shakee races a motorcycle a lot better than he can use a lawn mower. He has learned that a lawn mower will flip over when you give it too much gas unlike a motorcycle. His bottom end still hurts from the ‘brawl’. Next time you see Shakee, tell him to only GO FAST on his motorcycle.
Shakee is a wonderful racer to have in the NHDRO serines. We are so glad that he feels like everyone is treated like family at NHDRO and that we have a good racing organization.
